My first week with Hedrich Blessing was good.
I spent my time cleaning the camera cases, getting to know the equipment, and maintaining it. Just before I started Nick went to Dubai to make photographs. The site was still under construction, so the gear was incredibly dusty. I wiped down EVERYTHING. The case, the camera, the lenses, the cables, the light meter, the filters.
I also learned a bit about the workflow. Nick used film for many years, so the new digital process is still being adapted. After the images are processed, he still makes proof prints and marks them up with a marker to send out for retouching. Burn this corner, dust this, etc. I am therefore responsible for making the proof prints from the digital files.
